Please join us in wishing Tom Galloway the Happiest Birthday as he turns 90!

Tom is truly a pillar in the Oswego community. Thank you, Tom, for all that you have done in the community and thank you for your service to our Country. You are our role model and a true hero in every sense of the word.

Tom was born and raised in Oswego and most of his years lived in the City of Oswego. Tom is a True Oswegonian in every sense of the word. As the originator of the Century 21 Galloway Realty, and through his contributions to the Oswego Community.

After graduating from SUNY Oswego, Tom taught in area schools and then went into insurance. He was approached to work in a real estate office, got his license and eventually opened up his own real estate company. That business is now Century 21 Galloway Realty which William Galloway bought in 1994, and is now a third generation business as his grandson Ryan Galloway, is now a part of the business. Tom continued to work in the office and kept his license for those loyal clients that wanted to work with him. He was Realtor of the Year and served on several boards and committees. He is the patriarch of the Galloway family, and the patriarch of the Galloway business which continues today.

Tom Galloway

Tom served in the Korean War and his experience in that war was documented in the book, Vietnam & Beyond, by Jenny LaSala & Jim Markson

Tom served as the City Assessor and developed three neighborhoods in Oswego: Fairview Terrace, Woodridge which includes Debbie Lane named after his daughter Debbie Samson, and Ryan’s Way after his grandson Ryan Galloway. In addition to those two, he also developed Brandan Trail named after Brandan Galloway. Family always comes first with Tom.

Tom also helped organize “Trees for Vets'' which is a wonderful program in the City of Oswego and planting trees in honor of our local veterans. This is a program to re-tree the main street from Oswego from city-limit to city-limit. Several hundred trees have currently been planted and the program will be continuing. A bronze plaque honoring a veteran is placed at the base of the tree. Tom was also honored as the “Hometown Hero” at SUNY Oswego, at a Laker’s hockey game and Veteran of the Year in 2016.

Tom also owned the Cornerstone Restaurant which is now Bridie Manor back in the 1980’s. Just down the road from that on Bridie Square (named after his wife Bridget, who passed away in the early 80’s), he owned the land on the River which was sold to his son William and Tom Dunsmoor. The land has now been developed and is the home of luxury apartments all with a river view and two businesses.
